Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace
Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, in the evenings, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are over 6 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more. Before making a visit, please check if the FAQ has a reply to your questions.

Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Bath, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love. If you are interested in learning more about Budapest baths, explore some more on Baths Budapest.

Hi I looking in coming tomorrow with my girlfriend and I was just wondering do we both need to purchase the tickets with a cabin or can we buy one ticket with a cabin and just share one cabin?
Hello Ryan,
cabins at Szechenyi Bath can comfortably take up 1 person, and a bit more tightly even a couple to get changed. However, if you wish to use the cabin as a couple or as a family, we suggest getting changed by taking turns, but the other person needs to buy a ticket with a locker.
Have a great time in Szechenyi Baths.
Hallo
I visited you Monday the 1st of April and had a really nice experience! I was so unfortunate to forget a white plastic bag with fabrics. Is it possible that this has been found? It was a gift for my mother, so I am very sorry about losing it.
I hope that you can help me
Dear Henriette,
we have contacted you via email.
Hello,
My partner and I are coming from Prague to Budapest by bus tonight, and we have morning tickets for tomorrow for the spa. Our tickets say it’s a “morning ticket for weekdays (entrance until 9am)”. I was wondering if this meand that we must be at the spa entrance BEFORE 9am? That’s what I understood but we would like to be sure about this.
Also, we are carrying small luggage. We have 1 cabin ticket and 1 locker ticket. Does luggage fit inside the cabin?
Thank you.
Hello Irene,
morning tickets are valid until 9 am. So you can check in from 6 am and you have to leave the baths by 9 am.
he cabin is like a tiny room, or cubicle, which can store a standard check in suitcase easily.
The cabin size is approx. that of a dressing room in a clothes shop, so you can leave there the 20 kg suitcase as well ( if it is a regular size) along with your jackets etc.
The door of the cabin has a unique chip code lock, which opens and closes with a special waterproof bracelet: in fact, with the chip incorporated in the wristband bath entry provided at the bath. Please make sure that your door is locked with the silicon wristband before leaving the cabin. As you are wearing the band all the times, it is quite secure if you make sure that the door is not left open. I hope I could help.
Dear Tam,
we will soon contact you via email.
Are kids allowed for the baths ? We have a 7 month old, can we bring her?
Dear Varun,
babies are not allowed in the pools, but you can bring the baby and someone can stay with him
or her outside the pool area. The baths is free for children under 2 years old. Please find more details about this topic:

I did not receive my ticket via email that I bought.
