Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace
Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, in the evenings, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are over 6 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more. Before making a visit, please check if the FAQ has a reply to your questions.

Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Bath, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love. If you are interested in learning more about Budapest baths, explore some more on Baths Budapest.

Hello,
I’m staying in Budapest 01.-05.04. and I wanted to know if I need to prebook the entrance ticket or buy it online, or is there any chance to buy the ticket the day I decide to visit your Spa?
Andrea.
Hello Andrea,
tickets can be bought on the spot, but these are not fast track spa entries, such as the online purchased ones.

We wanted to visit this week 1-5 April but I see that swimming pool is closed. Does this mean all the outdoor pools are closed? Thanks

Never mind just recieved it! Thanks
Dear Rebecca,
thank you for confirming. We hope you will enjoy your visit in Szechenyi Baths.
Hi
I am visiting Budapest on 12-14 April and will be 17weeks pregnant. I have read that the thermal baths between 33-40 degrees are not suitable- are there many pools at a lower temperature that will be suitable as I am wondering whether it is worth the visit?
Thanks
Hello,
Do you have a place I could check my roller carry on bag? Or a locker that would fit? I would like to come for a few hours before my flight, but it does not make sense for us to go back our hotel afterwards. Please let me know! Thank you!
Dear Rae,
in this case please purchase a ticket with cabin.
Your luggage will easily fit in the cabin.
