Szechenyi Baths Towel Rental

Can you rent a towel in Szechenyi Furdo? The short answer to this frequently asked question in Szechenyi Bath rental is that yes, you can, but only in the exquisite rooftop spa relaxation zone which is in fact a Green House with palm trees, hammocks, sofas, fruits, teas, cocktails and rental services, hence the name Palm House DaySpalm. Short term hire of towels in Szechenyi Baths is unfortunately not available with standard bath tickets in Szechenyi Bath.

You can purchase a towel on the spot: the fluffy towel makes a nice gift and serves as a keepsake luxury towel embroidered with the Szechenyi Bath logo. Alternatively, you can purchase a disposable towel at a fraction of the cost. For environmental reasons, as part of green tourism, we kindly ask you to consider bringing your own light weight towel. Microfibre towels are reusable, super absorbing and ultra lightweight, suitable for carrying around the city.

Please note that towels are only available for purchase (prices starting at approx. HUF 6,000 per piece), unless you book the exclusive package called Palm House DaySpalm Package (with full day bath entry, Cabin, Palm House entry, fruits, rentals and more).

Renting a Towel in Szechenyi Bath

Once you have decided to pay a visit to Szechenyi Baths, you can put together your own bath bag (see our list of what to take to Szechenyi Baths), Before packing for Hungary, you may have realised that there is little room for a towel, especially if you wish to visit the city while popping into some of the fascinating thermal baths like Szechenyi Bath, Gellert Spa or Rudas Bath.

Lightweight travel towels (made of quick dry microfibre material) come in handy if you wish to minimise the bath bag to carry around. They are not only fast drying and a fraction of the weight of cotton towels, but they are also incredibly absorbent. Microfibre towels can be squeezed into very small packages as their thread is like silk, super thin and lightweight, yet durable.

Towel Options at Szechenyi Baths

As  towel rental is currently not a default option in Budapest thermal baths, you can choose to bring your own or buy your own towel on the spot (no pre-order is available).

There are two kinds of towels available for sale at the spa baths: comfy fluffy towels of high quality fabric and low quality disposable towels.

The disposable towels are simple bath sheets, rather than thick fluffy towels, designed for a single use. For an environment friendly option, kindly consider bringing your own towel (we suggest quick dry light weight towels to minimise the load while you are exploring the attractions in Budapest).

Alternatively, as a keepsake, you can also buy a larger cotton towel at an official vendor in the main hall of Szechenyi Bath.

Towel rental is an option though if you pre-purchase the DaySpalm package, which is a more expensive spa package (it provides access to the exclusive rooftop relaxation area, includes a cocktail, towel rental & bath robe rental, etc.).
