Add on Massage Booking for Ticket Holders

You can add a massage treatment to your existing booking with some limitations. Kindly read through the below information to consider buying a massage package (as part of a private spa package) in advance or checking last minute available treatments on the spot.

Already Have a Széchenyi Bath Ticket and Would Like to Add a Massage?

If you have already purchased your bath admission and would now like to add a massage, please follow the steps below before cancelling or changing anything.

1. First, check the conditions of your existing bath ticket

Please check your original booking confirmation carefully to see whether your admission ticket can be cancelled. As you may have seen, there are various bath ticket vendors where booking conditions may differ from each other.

Some flexible, higher-priced tickets specifically include a 24-hour cancellation option (e.g. on szechenyitbath.com or getyourguide, viator and similar vendors – if the ticket specifically states that it includes a flexible cancellation policy). Other admission tickets are non-refundable and non-changeable – in this case, unfortunately, there is no option to get a refund for the pre-purchased tickets.

Please do not assume that your ticket can be cancelled unless this is specifically stated in your booking confirmation.

2. Next, check whether a Private Spa Package is still available for your date

Advance massage reservations are currently offered primarily as part of a combined comfort package called the Private Spa Package (currently there are Deluxe, Superior or Thalisens packages), due to limited massage capacity and high demand. Stand alone massages, as add on treatments to prebooked tickets, are not bookable in advance, only on the spot (subject to availability on the given day).

Before cancelling an existing bath entry ticket, always check that a suitable Private Spa Package is actually available for your selected date. Massage appointments – as part of the Private Spa collection –  can sell out in advance, and particularly just a few days before your visit, availability may already be very limited or fully booked. Private Spa Packages are available with limitations (and limited booking conditions: e.g. appointments cannot be cancelled or changed).

3. If your existing ticket is refundable AND a Private Spa Package is available

You may wish to cancel your existing admission ticket in accordance with its cancellation conditions (kindly reach out to your original vendor, if Viator to Viator, if Headout to Headout, if Getyourguide contact Getyourguide etc. as we do not handle other third party vendor purchases). If the ticket is refunded or is in progress (confirmed by the seller you bought the tickets from), you can book the Private Spa Package on the following link: szechenyibath – webshop.

There is normally no need to keep or purchase a separate bath ticket, as the Private Spa Package already includes bath admission.

Private Spa Packages are arranged for a minimum of 2 guests / 2 treatment places and include two massages at the same appointment time in a shared massage room, together with bath admission and use of a private room for a limited period. Please check the package conditions carefully before booking: the package itself is non-changeable and non-refundable, the massage appointment is fixed, and therapist preferences cannot be guaranteed.

For a single guest or an odd-numbered group, please note that advance massage arrangements are still based on two appointments, so an additional treatment place would need to be purchased.

4. If your existing bath ticket cannot be cancelled

We would generally recommend keeping your ticket rather than losing its value. In this case, a regular stand-alone massage can only be requested on the spot, from any appointments remaining after advance bookings. Please inquire at the bath cashier upon arrival. If you wish to secure a massage treatment, we would kindly suggest exploring this option at a different thermal bath or spa facility, e.g. Mandala Day Spa or Rudas Bath.

Unfortunately, these last-minute treatments at Szechenyi Baths cannot be guaranteed. Most massage capacity may already have been reserved in advance through double/couple treatments within the Private Spa Packages, and remaining availability varies according to the day, season, advance bookings and cancellations.

Where available, the best chance of finding a remaining appointment is typically during the earlier hours on a weekday (Monday–Thursday) for 8 am or 9 am (guests need to arrive at least 45 minutes before their massage begins).

In short: if you already have a ticket, check your ticket conditions first, then check Private Spa Package availability, and only cancel a refundable ticket once you know that a suitable package is available to book.

While this arrangement may offer less flexibility for guests who have already purchased admission separately, massage capacity at Széchenyi Baths is limited and demand is particularly high. Advance treatments are therefore primarily allocated through the Private Spa Packages, with individual stand-alone massages offered from the remaining availability on the day.
