Cabins for Wheelchair users in Szechenyi Thermal Bath

We recommend to buy a Bath Ticket with a Cabin in Szechenyi Bath, as traditional Lockers, which are cheaper though, are located in the basement of the Bath, and it is complicated to access them for wheelchair users. It is also possible to store the wheelchair in the cabins, as some of the cabins have been specifically designed for wheelchair users and are spacious enough to accommodate a convenient way to get changed.

Wheelchair-accessible Pool in Szechenyi Bath

Although currently the bath complex and the pool areas are easily accessible with a wheelchair, unfortunately, the pool lifts are out of order and cannot be used for lifting guests from a wheelchair into a pool. Please kindly note that currently the pool elevators are not replaced by human helpers (the staff cannot help guests to get from the chair into the pool so unless you have your own help it may be a hindrance.). Kindly consider choosing Gellert Spa where pool lifts are available currently. We apologize for this inconvenience and hope that you will like the facilities in the historical building of the beautiful Gellert Spa Baths too.

Wheelchair-accessible pools at other baths

Currently, there are two Budapest thermal baths ready to accept wheelchair users, not only with accessible entry points and routes but also with lifts that can elevate the wheelchair user directly into the pool. These two thermal spas are perhaps lesser known but excellent choices. Paskal Thermal Bath is in the green Zuglo district of Budapest with low ramp public buses (or you can hire a private wheelchair accessible transfer to the baths). The driving distance is estimated at approx. 25 min from Deak Square, the heart of the city. Pesterzsebeti Thermal Bath is also away from Budapest city centre in the southern zone of the city, in Csepel District (approx. 20 min ride by taxi / private transport). Before making a visit, to avoid any unpleasant surprises, kindly make sure to inquire about the updates regarding the state of the lift as occasionally they may be out of order.

  1. Thank you that’s really helpful.

  2. Good morning, are there any concessions available for disabled people (not wheelchair users) and their carers?

      Dear Guis,
We regret to inform you that there are no special discounts for visitors with disabilities and their carers, nor for senior citizens, students, or children. All tickets are sold at the standard adult rate, with the option of a fast-track (skip-the-line) entry, which often sells out in advance.

However, if you purchase your ticket at the cashier before 9 AM from Monday to Thursday, you can take advantage of the Good Morning ticket, which is available at a lower price. This ticket must be purchased between 8 AM and 9 AM, and while entry must be before 9 AM, you are welcome to stay for the entire day. Additionally, tickets bought on-site do not include an administration fee.

Enjoy your visit to the Bath!
