What is the Difference Between Cabins and Lockers? – Szechenyi Bath FAQ

Tourists visiting Szechenyi Spa Baths are often puzzled by the various tickets: there are separate prices of entry for tickets with lockers and tickets with cabins. But what is a cabin in Szechenyi Baths and what is a locker? Do you need them at all?

Well, first of all, there are no plain tickets without a locker or a cabin.

Secondly, both lockers and cabins are for storing your belongings while you are enjoying the indoor baths and outdoor pools at Szechenyi Baths. Lockers are standard wardrobe type boxes with a lock on them (like the ones at train stations or at standard swimming pools). The size of the locker is 120x30x65 cm (1200 x 300 x 650 mm).

Cabins, on the other hand, are smallish changing rooms combined with storage facilities. In a bath cabin, you can get changed privately AND store your items in a safe place.

The cabin comfortably accommodates one person, so if you are a couple it might seem a bit tight, but you can take turns in getting changed (of course, the same applies to families or smaller groups too). As cabins take up more space and ensure your privacy, bath entries with cabin use (or more precisely, cabin hire) are more expensive than simple lockers. If you buy the cheaper bath entries with lockers, you will have to get changed in the women-only / men-only public changing rooms, and then store your bags in the lockers. If you wish to have your own privacy or are shy, cabins are definitely an ideal solution. Regular swimming pool goers will be fine with the lockers we assume.

  1. I am trying to book for New Year’s Day and it is saying it is unlikely a cabin will be available. Why is this!

      Dear Hannah,
Jan 1 is usually very busy in Szechenyi Baths. According to our experience from the previous years, it is possible that we might run out of cabins due to high demand. If you have pre-purchased a cabin ticket, but can’t get one when you arrive, you will be offered to wait a few minutes until a cabin becomes available, or you can choose to have a locker instead, and ask for a refund at the Help Desk.

  2. Hello, we are planning to visit your baths in July. It says in your website that the thermal spa is not advisable for 14 years old and below. But they can go to the public pools. Is it in the same area with the thermal baths? My other daughter is 10 years old. We really hate to forgo the Szechenyi Baths in our itinerary. I hope we can bring her inside as well.

Hi, thank you for your reply. i have bought 4 cabin tickets but I have yet to receive the tickets by email. Is the ticket valid for 1 day? meaning we can go in the morning and can return in the afternoon if we wish? Kindly advise.

        Dear Jennifer,
entry tickets are single passes, so it is not possible to leave the baths and return with the same ticket. Thank you for your kind understanding.

  3. Hello,

We are planning to join Sparty next month. Can we carry a single bag with our own towels (hygienic reasons) and store it in our cabins? Also, is it mandatory for everyone to be in proper swimsuit? Is there any specific dress code?

  4. Greetings
I want to buy tickets and a private cabin but I can not find a link, I tried to make an order and gave me only a card without a dressing room and I also want 5 tickets and it only gives me 1, can you put me a neat link here?

      Dear Yael,
booking can be made on the following page: https://szechenyibath.com/booking/
In the booking form you can choose ticket type (with locker or with cabin), and also you can enter how many tickets you wish to buy.

      • When I press the button on the entrance and the dressing room it gives me on the left a place to fill only a date and personal details without a number of guests,
In addition, I would like to ask whether I should add to each guest a cabin or is it enough that if we are together we take 1 cabin and 5 entrance tickets?

      • this:
Full day, fast track Szechenyi Bath Ticket.
        it is with cabin?

        • Szechenyi Spa Baths

          Dear Yael,
these are the options that you can choose from:
Bath Ticket + SzB Private Cabin €22
Bath Ticket + SzB Private Cabin Weekday €21
Bath Ticket + SzB Locker €20
Bath Ticket + SzB Locker Weekday €19

Unfortunately there are no tickets without cabin or locker, so if you would like to have only 1 cabin, we would recommend you to buy 1 ticket with cabin and 4 tickets with locker.

  5. Hi, can we buy ticket with cabin for 1 person, and ticket with locker for another person, and both use the cabin one after the other?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello,

      yes, of course.

The cabins at Szechenyi Bath can comfortably take up 1 person, and a bit more tightly even a couple to get changed. However, if you wish to use the cabin as a couple or as a family, we suggest getting changed by taking turns.

  6. Are lockers safe to store money and passport?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Merralyn,
we usually recommend guests not to bring any valuables to the Baths, but if you wish, the best and safest option is to rent a safety box upon arrival.
