The naturally hot (HOT!) spring waters – coming from deep underground the City Park Budapest – are simply not cooled down as in summer time, to keep bathing guests warm and cozy under the thick steam cushion hanging over the hot baths. It is a unique and unforgettable experience to hide from the cold winter weather in the relaxing thermal pools in Szechenyi Bath, the largest bath of Budapest, chosen to be one of  the Top 8 Thermal Baths in the World by Huffington Post.

  3. Hi, I am looking to stay in Budapest towards the end of January 2020. I noticed that there are no dates available from January onwards? When will these dates and tickets be released and able to purchase?

    Thank you :)

      Dear Phoebe,
thank you for your comment. 2020 dates are, unfortunately, not available for pre-booking yet.
We would like to kindly ask you to check back for calendar updates in December.
      Thank you for your cooperation.
      Have a great day.

  4. hello, we’re looking to go to the thermal baths sometime between the 29th and the 1st but not for a party. I tried to book online but the dates are not available. Am I going to be able to purchase tickets somehow? I would hate to leave Budapest without spending some hours in the thermal pools.
    thanks

      Dear Gladys,
Thank you for your inquiry about services between Dec 24, 2019, and Jan 07, 2020 in the baths.
While we normally would recommend online bookings to secure your appointments or entries, during the Winter Festive Season (Christmas and New Year – Dec 24 – Jan 7) the city attracts half a million extra tourists, which makes online fast track tickets to Szechenyi Baths and Gellert Spa simply non-fast track, and ticket holders are often held back in the – otherwise peaceful and expectant – crowds gathering around the entrances.
Hence the managerial decision was made that no fast track entries or cabins (changing cubicles) are sold during the festive days, with the notable exception of the pre-NYE night party tickets, which will be bookable for December 30 as usual in Szechenyi Baths.

Guests of day time visit will be checked in on a first-come-first-served basis. Unfortunately, we expect long queues due to the increased demand, even long lines in the cold.

  5. Hello ! We are visiting Budapest end of March, and we’d like to try the BATH PARTY – what is water temperature? it’s only outside?
any risk to get cold and sick ?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Marion,
      Thank you for your comment.
Sparties are held outside, and the water temperature is above 30 C. It is hard to predict the weather in March, but we would recommend taking robes/towels with you, and wear it when you are outside of the water just in case.
