Szechenyi Baths Night

Each evening, the 3 outdoor and 16 indoor pools of Szechenyi Spa Baths are open until late, into the evening hours, from Monday to Sunday, and in all four seasons, at weekends until approx. 8 pm (subject to seasonal change).

Friday Late Nights at Szechenyi Bath – Soak in Budapest’s Neo-Baroque Thermal Palace

Spend your Friday evening in true Budapest style at the magnificent Szechenyi Bath, the city’s grand Neo-Baroque spa located in the heart of City Park. With its romantic architecture, steaming waters, and iconic yellow façade, it’s one of the most memorable places for late-night thermal soaking in Budapest.

Every Friday from 9 am to around 10 pm, Széchenyi welcomes guests for an extended day of wellness. The complex features 15 to 17 pools, including spacious indoor baths and outdoor thermal pools. Please note: the outdoor lap pool is currently under maintenance, but the two other outdoor thermal pools remain open, including the beloved whirlpool pool – a summer favourite for soaking under the stars.

Take your time and enjoy the thermal waters – but please kindly remember: all pools must be vacated by 9.30 pm so guests can shower and change before closing. The gates close at 10 pm sharp.

Whether you’re winding down after a long day or starting your weekend with a splash, Szechenyi Thermal Bath’s Friday nights offer a warm, breezy escape in one of Budapest’s most iconic thermal baths.

Unwind, recharge, and experience the timeless charm of Budapest under the stars.

More Info on: Mon – Sun Opening Hours

Note: the staff will kindly ask you to leave the pools half an hour before the closing time.

Yes, that is right: Szechenyi Bath nights with its open air pools open all year round – spending an unforgettable night in the outdoor pools (there are more than a dozen indoor pools too) is one of the best things to do in Budapest, not only in spring – summer – autumn, but also in winter time.

Night opening hours mean that you can enjoy fantastic night baths in the open air pools, while enjoying romantic stargazing (in winter time the sun sets at approx. 4pm in Budapest), or just watching from the warm waves how gently the snow is falling – through the warm steam pillow forming over the thermal pools.

Open Air Pools at Night

There are 3 pools of various sizes and temperatures, so you will not feel either too hot or too cold, no matter what the weather is like. The middle pool is the coolest, which is in fact a sports swimming pool, while the two pools on the wings, are natural hot water thermal pools: one of which is cooled down to 33 degrees Celsius and the other is 38 degrees Celsius.

Night Parties in Szechenyi Baths

Party Night in Szechenyi Baths – Samu Czaban Photography

Almost every month every Saturday night you can join the world famous hip Szechenyi Bath spa parties, known as Sparties, or the rarer and more spectacular peak summer parties called by various names, depending on the theme of a given year, e.g. Water Circus parties, aka Cinetrip sparties.

Hours of Saturday Party Nights: 9.30 pm – 2 am

Sparties are one of a kind all night pool parties in 2 of the thermal outdoor pools in Szechenyi Baths with laser shows, DJ and VJ electronic discos. Typically enjoyed by young people in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

Just like the day time visits in Szechenyi Baths, the night parties are not nude parties, swimwear is compulsory.

Drinks are available at the parties, which take place almost every Saturday night (autumn, winter and spring and summer months too, including the pre NYE Bath Party in December)

  1. Hello,

We would like to do a night session on May 27th or 28th,
(We don’t want to do the Saturday night party)
How do we get the tickets?

    Thanks in advance,

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Tomas,
the bath is closing at 8pm. In the previous years, the outdoor area was open until 10pm.
We recommend you arrive in the afternoon and stay until closing.

    Hello

We would like to take a night bath on Friday, October 31.

Where can we book the tickets?

    Thank you and kind regards

    • Dear Claudine,

      Thank you for your message.
Kindly note that Széchenyi Bath is open until 22:00 on Friday, so you can enjoy a night bath with your regular ticket.

Have a great time at the night bathing!

  3. Hello

I am interested in the night bath.

If I try to book a ticket online, however, it says that check-in is from 8am-5pm. What if I only arrive at 7pm?

    Thank you and kind regards

    • Dear Claudine,

Thank you for your message and your interest in the Széchenyi Baths.

Please note that the last entry to the baths is one hour before closing, and the pools must be vacated 20 minutes before closing.
On Fridays, the baths close at 10:00 pm, which means the latest entry is at 9:00 pm. On other days, the baths close at 8:00 pm, with the latest entry at 7:00 pm.

We kindly suggest arriving earlier (except on Fridays) to allow enough time to check in, get changed, and fully enjoy your bath experience.

  4. Hello coming with kids, so how can do thermal bath

      Dear Shankar,

Thank you for planning your family visit to Budapest and your interest in the thermal baths.
For families, we recommend the following family-friendly baths during the colder season. These baths are better suited for younger visitors due to their pools and amenities geared towards families.

Palatinus Bath – A great option with outdoor and indoor pools and family amenities on Margaret Island in the heart of Budapest. Excellent value. Best option from late May to early October, but open during the winter months (outdoor thermal pool is connected via a heated corridor). Note: rental services not available, best to bring your own towel and swimwear as the bath shops may or may not have these items on sale.

Csillaghegy Bath – A spacious and modern complex ideal for families with children off city centre. Indoor pools are open in winter too. The location is off the city centre of Budapest.

In the winter months, we would particularly suggest Aquaworld if you wish to offer traditional water fun elements to your trip, e.g. chutes, slides, etc. and if you have a more spacious indoor / outdoor aqua theme park with multiple pools and slides in mind. The location is off the city centre of Budapest.

      Additional Information for Families
      Szechenyi Baths
Children under 14 are not allowed to enter the thermal pool waters in Szechenyi Bath complex.
Please find more relevant information on the following page: https://szechenyibath.com/can-children-go-to-szechenyi-baths-szechenyi-bath-faq/
The same daily entry ticket goes for all age groups. No child or student concession available.
As none of the indoor pools are available under 14 we think Szechenyi Bath would not be an ideal choice.

      Gellert Spa Baths
Gellert Spa is closed from Oct 1, 2025 until around 2028 as part of a major renovation.

      Rudas Bath & Lukacs Bath
Rudas and Lukács Bath, unfortunately, do not accept children either. This restriction applies to the entire facility, not just specific pools or areas.
