Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace
Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, in the evenings, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are over 6 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more. Before making a visit, please check if the FAQ has a reply to your questions.

Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Bath, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love. If you are interested in learning more about Budapest baths, explore some more on Baths Budapest.

Hi!
I’ve tickets for tomorrow. Is there any hair dryer available in the ladies changing rooms?
Thanks a lot!
BR
Dear Nuria,
yes, there are hairdryers available in the changing room.
We are planning to be in Budapest May 20 and 21, 2018. Will the baths be open on those days?
Dear Julie,
yes, Szechenyi Baths will open as usual, from 6am to 10 pm.
Where can I find a list of spa treatments and prices?
Great, thanks. Coming in May so will look after 7 jan
Looking to book as in budapest from 22-26th of January but finding website hard to navigate. Can we book while in Budapest?
Dear Victoria,
booking has not been opened yet for February.
Yes, you will also be able to book your tickets on the spot too.
Hello,
We are looking to get 5 tickets for the 12th of January but we the site doesn’t let us choose that day (or any day past the 7th). Are all tickets taken or are they still not available online? Do we have to wait a few more days before buying them?
Thank you so much for your attention
Dear Marta,
thank you for your email.
Booking for dates after Jan 7 has not been opened yet. The prices are likely to be confirmed by the end of this week.
Thank you for your patience.
Is there a reason why, at 4:45pm, your cashiers sit behind the cash desks with a sign saying closed, not serving people?
Hello Andrew,
we are sorry to hear that.
The Cashiers are selling tickets that can be paid and bought on the spot. I am afraid, Szechenyi Bath is almost full house today, ticket selling needed to be stopped.
If you buy your tickets with us, online, you would be entitled to a fast track bath entry, that is you need to check in in a separate queue.
I hope I could be of help.
