Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace
Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, in the evenings, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are over 6 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more. Before making a visit, please check if the FAQ has a reply to your questions.

Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Bath, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love. If you are interested in learning more about Budapest baths, explore some more on Baths Budapest.

Hi, I booked for 2 people for Tuesday 26th November 2019 and have not received a confirmation email.
Hi Salobi,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your confirmation was resent to you so please check both your mailbox and spam folder as well.
We wish you a great time at the bath in Budapest!
Hi , planning to visit in February, just wanted to check that we can request a female to do a massage or treatment? Also both me and my daughter wear modest swim wear , is that allowed in your baths? For example a full swim costume with swim leggings and swim t shirt ?
Hi Sofia,
Thank you for your question and your patience as well!
If you wish to have a female therapist during your massage session, please do indicate this in the “Comment” field upon filling up the booking form and we will try to accommodate your request (subject to availability). Booking for 2020 is not open yet so we kindly ask you to check back on our website early in January (from 8th Jan, 2020): https://szechenyibath.com/massage/

I would visit on Jan. 04, 2020.
But I found it stopped for the period from Dec.24, 2019 to Jan. 07, 2020 !??
Why? SO I CANNOT VISIT Szechenyi Spa Baths !?
Dear Helen,
Thank you for your inquiry about services between Dec 24, 2019, and Jan 7, 2020 in the baths.
Due to the high number of visitors during the festive winter days, the thermal baths’ managerial decision was made that no fast track entries or cabins (changing cubicles) are sold during these days, with the notable exception of the pre-NYE night party tickets, which will be bookable for December 30 as usual (in Szechenyi Baths https://szechenyibath.com/szechenyi-baths-new-year-bath-party/).
Guests of day time visit will be checked in on a first-come-first-served basis. As long queues are expected there may be some lines waiting in the cold. Please find more details, advice and other thermal bath alternatives on the following link: BathsBudapest.com/Dec
Thank you for your kind cooperation. Enjoy the thermal baths in winter Budapest and explore some more if it is not your first visit in the city.
