Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath  is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

  2. I am due to holiday in Budapest for 28/29/30 December I can see that all the tickets on line have been sold out. Do you have tickets available on the day at the Cashier desk?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Darren,

Thank you for your question. Fast Track Tickets are not sold during the festive season (between Dec 24,2019 and 7 Jan, 2020) based on a managerial decision. Regardless, you can purchase the tickets on the spot at the cashier. We kindly recommend showing up early at the bath because tickets will be sold on first-come-first-served basis.

We wish you a wonderful bath experience in Budapest!

  3. I’ve just booked and paid for tickets for the thermal baths today (16/11/19) but haven’t received tickets via email. I can’t see a contact email address to get in touch? Please advise.

      Dear Chantelle,

Your fast track bath ticket was resent to your email address. We kindly ask you to check your mailbox as well as your spam/junk folder as it could easily be in there.

Have a great day at the thermal spas in Budapest!

  4. Hi,

When you book a ticket, is it booked for a specific time slot. For example, from 4pm-6pm?

Does the price vary depending on the time spent in the baths?

    Thanks,

    Tom

      Hi Tom,

      Thank you for your question.
When you purchase a Fast Track Ticket online, you can visit the baths any time after 9 am and can stay, if you wish, until the closing hours. This means that no specific time slot needs to be pre-booked. In case you wish to purchase a massage, you can also enter the baths from 9 am, before your massage check-in time, and can enjoy being the baths facilities until they close.

No, the price does not vary based on the time spent there, however, there is a price difference between weekday and weekend tickets. Also, the entry is cheaper if purchased during off peak hours, before 9 am or after 7 pm.
Also, you can buy standard (non-fast track) entries on the spot at the cashier if you wish to arrive earlier before 9 am or after 6pm.
Please follow this link for booking a fast track ticket if that is your preference: https://szechenyibath.com/booking/

Have a great time at the baths in Budapest!
