We understand if you want to visit the popular Szechenyi Baths and Pool off peak hours, or when tourists are less frequent in the baths.
Obviously, early morning hours are less crowded, the pools are almost exclusively used by local regulars and early riser tourists who wish to do their swimming laps in the outdoor sports pool between 7am and 8am on weekdays, or who wish to use the spa facilities when they are not packed. Later on the day, especially mid and late afternoon, the baths and pools fill up with locals and tourists – especially in the summer months (from June to September).
So, if you want to pick the best time of the day, we recommend visiting the baths earlier in the day, either in the morning around or before 9 am (early morning tickets should be bought on the spot), or around noon, e.g. 1 pm. As one of the tourists wrote in their Szechenyi Baths review on a travel forum “We were there today, arrived at 1.30pm, and by 3.30pm it was chock-full of tourists. Earlier it was quiet and only older locals were bathing.”
Weekends are, similarly to peak hours, more popular, so to have some more personal space in the thermal spa baths, you may wish to schedule your bath visit for a weekday (any weekday open, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday). All days are mixed, so you don’t need to plan ahead for coed visits.
We would like to book 4 massages for Sunday 5th can you fit us in if so what time ?
Dear Michelle,
we are really sorry, but we can only book a massage after payment has taken place as massage hours are limited. If you wish to book, please use the booking form on the left side of this page. (https://szechenyibath.com/szechenyi-baths-booking/).
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi,
Do you do group packages for 8 people, to have treatments and use of the facilities?
Regards
Hi,
I am travelling to Budapest on 20th May 2017. I wanted to know if the weather will permit us to have a bath in these pools. I mean the outside temperature will be cold and the water will be hot so chances of us falling sick will be high.
Dear Joymalya,
you can use only the indoor thermal pools if you would like to avoid catching a cold. However it is not very likely to catch a cold, even if the outside temperature is cold. Unfortunately we cannot predict the weather on the 20th of May, but around this time of the year it can be between 15-25 Celsius.
Hello Linda,
I am afraid, it is not possible to leave the baths and come back, later on that day with the same ticket.
Unfortunately, the entry ticket is a single pass and not a multi-pass.
The check in is from 9am to 6pm, and you can stay until 10pm at Szechenyi Baths.
Maybe you could visit the baths in the afternoon and stay until closing.
Hope we can welcome you at Szechenyi Spa Baths!
Good Morning! 11/1/18 are they open?
Hello Joao,
the bath will be open, however, tickets are not on sale yet for 2018.
Please check our website at the end of November.
Enjoy your stay in Budapest!
Hello, I will be visiting Budapest next week and would love to visit the baths. I’m unsure what day we will have the time, is it possible to buy tickets at the baths the day of or do tickets need to purchased in advance? Thanks so much!
Dear Lindsay,
you can buy Tickets on the spot at the cashiers. Online Tickets entitle you to a Fats Track entry, as Szehenyi Baths is always busy, and queues build up quickly.
Enjoy your time in the Baths!
