Tourists visiting Szechenyi Spa Baths are often puzzled by the various tickets: there are separate prices of entry for tickets with lockers and tickets with cabins. But what is a cabin in Szechenyi Baths and what is a locker? Do you need them at all?
Well, first of all, there are no plain tickets without a locker or a cabin.
Secondly, both lockers and cabins are for storing your belongings while you are enjoying the indoor baths and outdoor pools at Szechenyi Baths. Lockers are standard wardrobe type boxes with a lock on them (like the ones at train stations or at standard swimming pools). The size of the locker is 120x30x65 cm (1200 x 300 x 650 mm).
Cabins, on the other hand, are smallish changing rooms combined with storage facilities. In a bath cabin, you can get changed privately AND store your items in a safe place.
The cabin comfortably accommodates one person, so if you are a couple it might seem a bit tight, but you can take turns in getting changed (of course, the same applies to families or smaller groups too). As cabins take up more space and ensure your privacy, bath entries with cabin use (or more precisely, cabin hire) are more expensive than simple lockers. If you buy the cheaper bath entries with lockers, you will have to get changed in the women-only / men-only public changing rooms, and then store your bags in the lockers. If you wish to have your own privacy or are shy, cabins are definitely an ideal solution. Regular swimming pool goers will be fine with the lockers we assume.
1) So if I come on a Thursday, I should book Bath Ticket + SzB Private Cabin Weekday €21?
2) Are the baths suitable for people with ezcema? Are there cases of people with ezcema conditions gets worsen after trying the baths?
Hello Charles,
yes, on Thursdays you can enter with weekday tickets.
Eczema / Atopic dermatitis (AD) – please consult with your dermatologist, or health care provider as the following are for information only and do not qualify as advice for medical treatment
Soak & Seal Approach – as recommended by NationalEczema.org
According to recent researches, thermal waters are rich in mineral that are mostly beneficial for eczema (supposing you use it for a limited time, and then apply a very thick emollient your skin likes within 3 minutes and not later). Anyone with eczema is strongly advised to refrain from longer periods of soaking in water, especially hot water. After soaking moisturising the skin deeply is essential as if you just let it air dry and do not replenish the skin, the skin will get dryer after the soaking. The skin needs to be restrengthened and replenished with an eczema emollient that you usually use after showers or baths as prescribed by your doctor (as you are surely aware not all moisturisers work for everyone, and there are many varieties in brand, thickness, ingredients etc. where patients’ reactions widely change).
If you visit Szechenyi Baths we would suggest consulting with your doctor first and if you get a green light, perhaps taking short dips, 1 minute at most would help see how your own skin reacts. After the dips moisturising is recommended. Rather than the hot spring pools, you may wish to try the cooled down lukewarm thermal baths rather than the hot spring baths. It’s worth testing how your skin reacts specifically before spending more time in the water.
One you get out of the pool, only pat your skin with the towel (no rubbing, just gentle patting)
Within 1-3 minutes you plenty of moisturiser (waiting more than 3 min quickly decreases the chances of good absorption and lets the skin dry too much)
However, with all these approaches, we cannot provide you with legal medicinal advice, it can only be a doctor: we’d recommend you consult with your doctor / GP / dermatologist to make sure your visit to the thermal baths will not worsen your eczema, quite on the contrary.
I hope you will have a great time in Budapest and relax well.

Hi,
Thank you for providing such good information

If two people are coming together will each person need a cabin or can one be shared?
Hello Sara,
all tickets are sold with some kind of storage space.
You can save some euros on buying 1 ticket with locker and 1 with a cabin so you can share the cabin.
Please note that the size of the cabin is like a fitting room in a clothes shop, so you will need to take turns to get changed.
You can store your clothes in one cabin.
I hope I could help.
Hi,
I am planning on visiting in December, there is an option available on the site with the description:
“Private Spa in deluxe ensuit double room (entrance ticket from 9 am to 6 pm for 4 hours, bathrobe, towel, soft indoor slippers, swimming cap, Budapest Spas Thermal shower gel (8 ml), safe box, LED TV, free Wi-Fi, mini bar, BUDAPEST SPAS mineral water)”
I am wondering if I need to buy two tickets for myself and herself or does the 1 ticket for the double room work for both of us? Also are these rooms much bigger than the standard cabins?
I have not received tickets on the indicated email even though I have paid by Paypal

Have a great day.
Hello – I am hoping to visit the baths on Sunday, Feb 16th with my two teenage daughters. We won’t have towels – or flip flops/foot covers – are they included in the entry price?
thanks.
