What is the Difference Between Cabins and Lockers? – Szechenyi Bath FAQ

Tourists visiting Szechenyi Spa Baths are often puzzled by the various tickets: there are separate prices of entry for tickets with lockers and tickets with cabins. But what is a cabin in Szechenyi Baths and what is a locker? Do you need them at all?

Well, first of all, there are no plain tickets without a locker or a cabin.

Secondly, both lockers and cabins are for storing your belongings while you are enjoying the indoor baths and outdoor pools at Szechenyi Baths. Lockers are standard wardrobe type boxes with a lock on them (like the ones at train stations or at standard swimming pools). The size of the locker is 120x30x65 cm (1200 x 300 x 650 mm).

Cabins, on the other hand, are smallish changing rooms combined with storage facilities. In a bath cabin, you can get changed privately AND store your items in a safe place.

The cabin comfortably accommodates one person, so if you are a couple it might seem a bit tight, but you can take turns in getting changed (of course, the same applies to families or smaller groups too). As cabins take up more space and ensure your privacy, bath entries with cabin use (or more precisely, cabin hire) are more expensive than simple lockers. If you buy the cheaper bath entries with lockers, you will have to get changed in the women-only / men-only public changing rooms, and then store your bags in the lockers. If you wish to have your own privacy or are shy, cabins are definitely an ideal solution. Regular swimming pool goers will be fine with the lockers we assume.

  1. Hello,
If you want to book for 2 people at a certain point it says how many packages? Does this mean for how many people, or how many massages you want?
And if you book for 2, will these massages be in the same room, at the same time? Or how does that work?
    Kind regards,
    Carmen

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Carmen,
the Double massage packages are for 2 guests, so you have to write 1 in order to get 1 package for the 2 of you (2 packages would be for 4 guests).
The double massage package offers 2 entry tickets and a double massage (2 guests at the same time in the same room).
You can set a preferred massage hour and we will book you in according to the available timeslots. You will receive the confirmed massage hours via email.
      I hope I could help.

      • Hello,
It’s still not completely clear to us how it works. We can’t find a double package for a massage, but just a massage combined with a bath ticket for 37 euros each. This doubles if you say 2 packages, but there’s still just one name you have to fill in. Where on the site can I find a double massage package, or how do I book for 2 people?
        Kind regards,
        Carmen Bruisten

          Dear Carmen,
the double massages are only available in 50/70 min versions, I am afraid that the 20 min massage rooms are single rooms only.
          I hope I could help.

          • One last question. We only want a massage for 20 min, but we’d like it at the same time, is there any possibility this can be arranged? Kind regards Carmen

          • Szechenyi Spa Baths

            Dear Carmen,
it is possible to have the 20min massages at the same, although in separate rooms.

  2. Maria Dolores Garces Muro

Buenas noches. Gracias

  3. Greetings from Sweden
We plan to rent a cabin. Can you confirm if a safe locker is inside the cabin or do we need to rent a safe locker seperately?
    Best
    John

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear John,
the cabin is like a tiny room, or cubicle, where you can get changed and store your belongings.
The cabin size is approx. that of a dressing room in a clothes shop.
The door of the cabin has a unique chip code lock, which opens and closes with a special waterproof bracelet: in fact, with the chip incorporated in the wristband bath entry provided at the bath. Please make sure that your door is locked with the silicon wristband before leaving the cabin. As you are wearing the band all the times, it is quite secure if you make sure that the door is not left open.
If you decide to book tickets with lockers you can get changed in the changing rooms and store your bags in the lockers.
      The size of the locker is 120x30x65 cm (1200 x 300 x 650 mm).
The lockers are also opened and closed by your wristband.
Hope we can welcome you at Szechenyi Spa Baths!

  4. Hi
My friend and are are backpacking, and ned to bring our bags to the Szechenyi bath. Do you get only one cabin if you book the ticket together? And is the cabin safe to leave our tickets, passport and other valuables? Is the cabin big enough for two big backpacks?
    Kind regarts
    Kristine

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hi Kristine,
there is a cabin included in each ticket, which means you will have one cabin per person. Yes, you can leave your luggage there while you are in the Baths. Valuables are recommended to be left at the safety boxes at the entrance (please ask for them upon check-in).

  5. MARIA FERNANDES

    Good evening.
If I want to go to the baths only after 19H00, how can I book two tickets online?
During my purchase, they force me to agree on the following: that I’m going to enter from 09AM to 06OM and can stay until 10PM, If I decide that.

    Kind regards.

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Maria,
the afternoon tickets (valid from 7pm) can only be purchased on the spot. Thank you for your understanding.
