Currently there are all day tickets on sale. Pre-Covid there used to be a cheaper afternoon ticket indeed, however, the baths are full house now and close earlier than before (7pm vs 10 pm in the past).

the sales of tickets go through via multiple channels via multiple resale vendors as well as at the cashiers, so it is hard to tell if tickets will be left for a given day.
Arriving in the morning provides a much higher chance for getting a ticket on the spot.
