Szechenyi Bath Opening Hours

The Opening Hours of Szechenyi Baths follow the seasons and keep changing throughout the year. That being said, the range from 9.00 – 19.00 (9 am – 7 pm) is 99.9% that it is open, including the open air facilities (the 3 outdoor pools, as well as the indoor facilities (15 indoor pools, steam rooms, saunas, massage parlours, beauty salon, aqua fitness & balneal treatment, etc.).

Minimum age of entering the thermal bath pools: 14 years of age. Read more about Children / Teen / Student Tickets in Szechenyi Bath. When is Szechenyi Bath Open?

Out of the 18 pools in Szechenyi Bath, 3 pools are open air, while 15 pools are indoor. The outdoor and indoor areas have different opening hours

Due to ongoing renovation work, the temperature of the outdoor thermal pool may be lower until January 28, 2025.

  • Mon- Fri: 7 am to 8 pm Last entry for convenience: 2h before closing time
  • Sat-Sun: 8 am to 8 pm Last entry for convenience: 2h before closing time
  • Saunas and Steam rooms: from 10 am to 7.30 pm every day
  • Palm House: Mon-Wed: 9 am to 6 pm and Thu-Sun: 9 am to 7 pm.
  • Check-in for the online bookings: minimum 2 hours before closing time, possibly 3 hours in order to enjoy the bath facilities in a convenient way. Shorter bath visits are less likely to be satisfactory or ‘enough’. Note: in festive periods Szechenyi Baths tends to run full house with waiting time of approx. 30-60 minutes. For a more relaxed bath experience we suggest taking a look at alternative baths, like Gellert Bath, Rudas Bath or Lukacs Bath which tend to have calmer, less busy pools and bath facilities as well as shorter waiting times on special holidays (e.g. Christmas or New Year).

  1. Hi,
I wanted to know what the hours are for 24th, 25th and 26th December 2019? Also, are there are restricted areas for men/women?

    Thank you,

  2. Hello, we (2 persons) like to book tickets and massage 27:th of december 2019 but you cant to that in the calander. Why is it full?

      Hello Alexandra,

Thank you for your question. During the upcoming festive season (between 24th December, 2019 and 7th January, 2020) there will be no fast track entry tickets sold based on a managerial decision. We kindly recommend you to go the bath early to purchase your ticket/s on the spot because they will be sold on first-come-first-served basis and it is very likely that the bath will be quite busy on the day of your visit.

We wish you a wonderful time in Budapest!

  3. Hi wondering if your open the whole of January as the website is not allowing me to book tockets for 25jan 2020 ?
    Thanks

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Monique,
      thank you for your inquiry.
For 2020 tickets, massages and packages: please check back in January. As the rates are not published yet, you will be able to book when we will start the sales for 2020 in January.
We recommend booking day time (9 am – 6 pm) tickets and massages in advance as the treatments are selling out rapidly.
We hope you will have a great experience in Budapest’s Thermal Baths.

      Dear Chiara,
Thank you for your inquiry about services between Dec 24, 2019, and Jan 7, 2020 in the baths.
Due to the high number of visitors during the festive winter days, the thermal baths’ managerial decision was made that no fast track entries or cabins (changing cubicles) are sold during these days, with the notable exception of the pre-NYE night party tickets, which will be bookable for December 30 as usual (in Szechenyi Baths https://szechenyibath.com/szechenyi-baths-new-year-bath-party/).

Guests of day time visit will be checked in on a first-come-first-served basis. As long queues are expected there may be some lines waiting in the cold. Please find more details, advice and other thermal bath alternatives on the following link: BathsBudapest.com/Dec

Thank you for your kind cooperation. Enjoy the thermal baths in winter Budapest and explore some more if it is not your first visit in the city.
