Szechenyi Bath Opening Hours

The Opening Hours of Szechenyi Baths follow the seasons and keep changing throughout the year. That being said, the range from 9.00 – 19.00 (9 am – 7 pm) is 99.9% that it is open, including the open air facilities (the 3 outdoor pools, as well as the indoor facilities (15 indoor pools, steam rooms, saunas, massage parlours, beauty salon, aqua fitness & balneal treatment, etc.).

Minimum age of entering the thermal bath pools: 14 years of age. Read more about Children / Teen / Student Tickets in Szechenyi Bath. When is Szechenyi Bath Open?

Out of the 18 pools in Szechenyi Bath, 3 pools are open air, while 15 pools are indoor. The outdoor and indoor areas have different opening hours

Due to ongoing renovation work, the temperature of the outdoor thermal pool may be lower until January 28, 2025.

  • Mon- Fri: 7 am to 8 pm Last entry for convenience: 2h before closing time
  • Sat-Sun: 8 am to 8 pm Last entry for convenience: 2h before closing time
  • Saunas and Steam rooms: from 10 am to 7.30 pm every day
  • Palm House: Mon-Wed: 9 am to 6 pm and Thu-Sun: 9 am to 7 pm.
  • Check-in for the online bookings: minimum 2 hours before closing time, possibly 3 hours in order to enjoy the bath facilities in a convenient way. Shorter bath visits are less likely to be satisfactory or ‘enough’. Note: in festive periods Szechenyi Baths tends to run full house with waiting time of approx. 30-60 minutes. For a more relaxed bath experience we suggest taking a look at alternative baths, like Gellert Bath, Rudas Bath or Lukacs Bath which tend to have calmer, less busy pools and bath facilities as well as shorter waiting times on special holidays (e.g. Christmas or New Year).

  1. Hi guys,

I was just wondering how to preorder tickets for a certain time?
My husband and I are unsure if we should come early in the morning or later in the evening (around 7pm).

What time is usually the quietest? We only have a short amount of time in Budapest so would like to try to see and do as much as we can.

    Best Wishes,
    Emily.

  2. Hello,

Wondering whether the ticket gives you in-out privilege. When we buy a ticket and visit in the morning, can we then leave and come back for a visit in the evening?

    Thanks!
    Eliza

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Eliza,
I’m afraid not, as the bath entries are single pass only, the bath tickets do not entitle guests to make multiple visits on the same day. We would kindly ask you to plan your bath visit with this in mind (you can bring your own food and drink in non-glass containers, or you can get some standard snacks and drinks at the cafeteria inside Szechenyi Baths)
Thank you for your visit in the thermal baths of Budapest.

  3. Szechenyi Spa Baths

    Hello Mairead,

tickets and treatments will not be pre-bookable, that is online reservation will be suspended during the extremely popular Budapest Sziget Festival, between 7 and 13 August.

Tickets and massage treatments (or any other treatments) can only be bought on the spot of Szechenyi Baths during the Sziget Festival days.
