Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

Budapest Spa Party / Sparty

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath  is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

      Hello Nadav,
Thank you for your inquiry about the Spa Baths massage services.
Massage treatments are no longer available for pre-booking. Reservation is on the spot, on a first come first served basis, subject to availability.
Kindly note that massages are very popular and always get booked up on the spot (i.e. not guaranteed at the time of your arrival).
We recommend you buy online tickets and arrive shortly after 9am to ensure that there are massage slots left.
Sauna Sessions are available on Sundays from 2.20 pm in every 50 minutes, they are guided sauna sessions with aroma oils, body scrub, and icy ending. Kindly note that occasionally the sauna programmes in Szechenyi Baths may be cancelled due to technical reasons.
Before entering the bath please kindly check with the cashier about the sauna programme updates and availabilities
The sauna program costs HUF 650 on top of the entry ticket. Please note that on May 29 the sauna program is not available.
Hope we can welcome you at Szechenyi Spa Baths!

(Outside the pools, you can wear cotton tops or robes as well).

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Alexandra,
since we are expecting a price increase tickets are not available yet. Please book 2 weeks before the bath visit date.
Hope we can welcome you at Szechenyi Spa Baths!

  5. Hi , we’re hoping to come , Is there lockers or safe places we can but our bags etc

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Lucy,
If you choose tickets with lockers, you can get changed in the public men only and women only changing rooms and store your belongings in the lockers. Lockers are closed with the wristband provided upon arrival.

The cabin is like a tiny room where you can get changed and store your belongings.

The cabin size is approx. that of a dressing room in a clothes shop and the door has a unique chip code lock, which opens and closes with a special waterproof bracelet: in fact, with the chip incorporated in the wristband bath entry provided at the bath. Please make sure that your door is locked with the silicon wristband before leaving the cabin. As you are wearing the band all the time, it is quite secure if you make sure that the door is not left open.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

  6. Hi there. is it mandatory to wear the mask? (Just making sure)
