Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

Budapest Spa Party / Sparty

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath  is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

    Hi,

I have just booked 3 tickets for June for me and my 2 friends. I can’t figure out whether we can pre-book massages, as the information is mixed on the website. Do we have to arrive early on the day to book a same-day massage, or can we pre-book?

    Thanks

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Leila,

Thank you for your inquiry about the Spa Baths massage services.
Massage treatments are no longer available for pre-booking. Reservation is on the spot, on a first come first served basis, subject to availability.
Kindly note that massages are very popular and always get booked up on the spot (i.e. not guaranteed at the time of your arrival).

We recommend buying your entry tickets online and adding the massages upon your arrival. Recommended arrival time is 9 am.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

  2. Can you buy an entry ticket on the day or is it prebooked tickets via the website only?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hi Callum,

Yes, you can purchase your bath ticket on the day – subject to availability.
Have a great time in Budapest!

  3. Hi I have purchased tickets but have yet received any email regarding the tickets. Can you send them to me please?

    • We paid on PayPal with the email below.

        Hello Gabriel,

In the meantime we have sorted it out via email – the typo in the email address caused a delivery problem. Thank you for contacting us in time with a re-delivery request. Enjoy your stay in Budapest!

  4. Dear Team,

The ticket page states that “Check-in” time is until 17:00– does this mean we can’t get in after that time? (Plane lands a little past 16:00, so we wouldn’t make 17:00). If last entry is at 17:00, what happens on Saturday nights– are there separate tickets for the party? Thank you.

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Arina,

The Baths closes its gates at 8pm, last check in is 7pm if you buy the tickets on the spot (all cashiers close at 19.00).
1 hour is not enough to truly enjoy the thermal baths as all guests need about 15 min to check in and get dressed, then guests are to leave the pools by 19.45. With online tickets we wish to keep an early check in hours to avoid any disappointments and let customers enjoy the facilities.

Ideally, try to find time for minimum hours when visiting the baths.

Saturday nights: the baths close at 8pm, then there is a break. After that on most Sat nights, there are bath parties with music (and its own separate entry tickets, where day tickets are not accepted) https://szechenyibath.com/sparties/

  5. Hi, I would like to go with my family (2 adults and a nearly 9 year old child) to your spa. I would be interested in renting a private cabin. I would like to know if there is a safety deposit box inside the cabin or something else in which to store my belongings and if it is possible to rent bathroom towels. Thanks

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Giovanni,
You can book tickets with cabins or with lockers – all of our tickets are with Fast Track and they are valid for the whole day (check-in times: from 9 am to 6 pm).
The cabin is like a tiny room, the size is that of a changing cubicle, where you can get changed and store your belongings (some guests are leaving for the airport directly, and leave their suitcase/backpack in the cabin. You can also book a safe, however, if you have anything of particular value. Please note that the baths are very busy, and we do not recommend storing/bringing items of considerable value with yourself to the baths, such as jewellery, valuable wristwatches, etc.).
The rental service is suspended since the start of the pandemic.
We recommend you bring your own slippers and lightweight towels.
You can purchase a towel on the spot: the fluffy towel makes a nice gift and serves as a keepsake luxury towel embroidered with the Szechenyi Bath logo.
Alternatively, you can purchase a disposable towel at a fraction of the cost. For environmental reasons, as part of green tourism, we kindly ask you to consider bringing your own lightweight towel. Microfibre towels are reusable, super absorbing and ultra lightweight, suitable for carrying around the city.
