Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

Budapest Spa Party / Sparty
Budapest Bath Party / Sparty

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath  is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

  1. Hello there

We are coming next week but before booking I would like to know if I can bring my 8 year old daughter with me, with a rapid/PCR test?? I saw in earlier comment that only vaccinated allowed, but does this apply to children under 14…Will she be allowed to enter?

    Many thanks in advance

  2. I would like to book a couple massage, but I see appointments have been suspended. Asking for verification. Thank you

      Hello Lucie,

This is to verify the statement: massage treatments are currently not available for pre-booking. Reservation is on the spot, on a first come first served basis, subject to availability.
Kindly note that massages are very popular and always get booked up on the spot, especially now during the festive season (i.e. not guaranteed at the time of your arrival).

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

  3. Hi, is it merely possible to pay via paypal? I’m from Holland and would like to pay via Maestro, is that an option? Also I was wondering if there is a time limit to your visit to the baths?

    Thanks in advance!

      Hello Floor,
If your PayPal interface does not offer a guest check out (we understand that in some countries this option is simply not displayed), please kindly contact us via email and we will send all the information about alternative payment options. Thank you for your attention, looking forward to your email inquiry.
I believe there are many guests from Holland using PayPal without a problem, so there is a fair chance you can use it as a guest check out with a card.

  4. Hi,
A friend an me are planning to visit in Janurari, will there be a party on saturday 15 januari?
I would like to hear from you!
    Thanks

      Hi Zara,

I’m afraid the only bath party in Szechenyi Baths is on New Year’s Day, Jan 1, 2022. The next party following that is the Feb 12 Saturday night sparty – there are no parties scheduled between the two dates.
That said, there are other parties in the town, including ruin bar pub crawls, boat parties etc. in Budapest.

  5. Hi.

      Hello Salim,
We have sent you an email as a follow up to your question. Kindly check your spam folder if the inbox does not show the reply.

      • Hi,

I have both vaccines and my partner has proof of first jab on his NHS app (U.K.) even though it doesn’t come on an official document. It shows batch number and name of vaccine. Is this enough for proof of vaccination? Thank you

  6. hi, i have a negative test result. with eu-qr-code.is this enough for get in?
    Thank you!

    • Hi, can you provide me a link where I can prove that law? Is that a law for every bath in the entire country of Hungary or is it only regional for this particularly bath? Because the governmental website says, that there are no more covid restrictions for cafés, restaurants, cinemas and baths. And on website of German Embassy it also says, that there are no covid restrictions except from mask obligation.
      Thank you!

        Hello Hans,

        Thank you for your question.
This decision is not only up to each institution but also has a different angle: Budapest Spas – which is not only a recreational thermal bath but a medical complex – is compelled to be more cautious about such decisions to be able to give a better level of safety.

If you are to visit other thermal baths in the countryside it will be very likely a similar policy. Kindly inquire at the chosen institution to receive the best and most updated official information about their bath entry policy during the Covid years.
