Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath  is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

  1. Hello, do you have indoor pools and are they heated?? Are children welcome here, age 10 and 6???

  2. Hello!
Are all saunas, wet and dry regularly open at this time? Is there a maximum number of people allowed inside the whole SPA and inside every single sauna?
    Kösszönöm

  3. Hello,

until what time the baths are open in December?
I found in some webpages 7p.m and in other 10p.m – not sure if 7p.m is closing time or just last check in to baths.
Also, is a towel given or shall we bring it with us?

    Thank you in advance,
    Christina

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Christina,
Szechenyi Baths is closing at 7pm in this season. Please bring your own towels, at the moment towel rental is not available, but you can buy disposable towels or more expensive fluffy ones. We recommend bringing microfibre sports towels as they are lightweight to carry around yet very effective.
Hope we can welcome you at Szechenyi Spa Baths!

  4. Is the outdoor pools salted water or clored water?
    Best regards Dorte

  6. Irene Chamorro Guindel

    Hello,

I wanted to book some tickets on your website but I seem to have some problems concerning your booking system.

I wanted to book a bath entry + massage but I can only book a bath ticket.

Should I book the ticket anyway and book the massage elsewhere ? Can I book the massage when we arrive at the Szechenyi Baths?

Thank you in advance for your help

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Irene
Thank you for your inquiry about the Spa Baths massage services.
Massage treatments are no longer available for pre-booking. Reservation is on the spot, on a first come first served basis, subject to availability.
Kindly note that massages are very popular and always get booked up on the spot (i.e. not guaranteed at the time of your arrival).
We recommend buying online tickets and arriving in the morning hours to reserve massages as well.
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
