Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath  is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

  1. Hello

I would like to know if the baths will be closed between the 8 an 10 August?
Thede days are unavailable on the booking options.

    Kind regards

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hi Alberto,
Thank you for your inquiry about services between Aug 8 and 10, 2020 in the baths.
From experience, online fast track ticket sales are stopped for the time period of Sziget Festival.
On these days you can purchase entry tickets at Szechenyi Bath upon arrival.
Please note that since the city attracts several thousand extra visitors during this period, waiting times in the queue are to be expected very long.
      Thank you.

  2. Purchased an online ticket yesterday and have received nothing??

  3. Hi, I would like to know, if I buy two tickets with locker (not cabin) do I have any space to leave my clothes (are the lockers big enough or…)? And for changing (even if it is a public space)? And last question, if I buy one ticket with locker and another one with cabin, can we both share the cabin (male, female…)?

  4. Hey I have a some questions,

Is it possible to wear a loose swim short?
Can I enter the spa with crutches because I can’t walk without them?
Do we need to make a reservation or can we buy our tickets there?

    Thank u in advance.

      Dear Lotte,
Please see a link where you can read further about the dress code at Szechenyi Baths: Dress Code
We would advise against the crutches, because the surfaces and floors in the Baths are wet, and using crutches could cause accidents – both for you and for others.
You don’t have to make a reservation, but we suggest to book fast-track tickets online, so you don’t spend much time in the queue. Tickets can be pre-booked on the following link: https://szechenyibath.com/booking/
      We hope this information helps.
