You can usually see a lot of great photos of Szechenyi Baths and its open air pools (the 3 outdoor pools), however, you may rarely see photos and videos of the Medicinal Baths inside. Let us take you on a short informal tour in Szechenyi Baths.
The video recording below is a visually informative tourist made video inside the Budapest Szechenyi Baths. There is no background music or narrative, just what the eye of the camera sees if you turn around. So just take a look at some of the 15 indoor pools in Szechenyi Baths. What you see are all thermal baths of varying temperature. This is a typical day in the busy life of Szechenyi Furdo during the daytime.
Tips for first timers at Szechenyi Baths: do try both the outdoor and the indoor baths and the thermal spa facilities (saunas, steam rooms, aqua fitness, whirlpool, jets, sun decks, etc. are included in your Szechenyi Baths ticket, what is not included are the extra services like the massage at Szechenyi Baths, the fish pedicure, the facial treatments, and other beauty services). Take a look at the beautiful interior of Szechenyi Baths – indoor pools:
Hi.
We are interested to book a ticket for our holiday. Is there any pool for children also?
Dear Rezvan,
thank you for contacting us.
Szechenyi Bath was opened, the whole bath complex was, and is still aimed at adult bathers. There is not any children pool in the spa.
Children & babies who are not dry and clean yet (being potty trained) are not allowed in the pools, not even with a swimming nappy. This usually applies to children under 3 years of age. Babies and toddlers can come with you to the bath, and stay outside the pool area.
As most of the outdoor and indoor pools and baths at Szechenyi Baths are more than 33 degrees Celsius, which means increased stress for the cardiovascular system of kids, whose body is not fully developed yet to be able to cope with the heat of the bath waters.

I hope I could be of help.

Hello Vardan,
the outdoor pools are open all year round.
They are hot from 26C to 38C.

Good evening to you,
My husband and I will be in Budapest from 23 to 26 December 2019. We would love to come and visit your beautiful baths. Can we just “walk in” on either the 24th or 25th December and spend a couple of hours there or do you have to book a ticket in advance? What is the price in Euros if we just walk in on one of those days? We are not sure about times as we do not have any plans as yet apart from a Christmas dinner cruise. I look forward to your response.
Many thanks
Careen Warrington
Dear Careen,
it is not necessary to book your tickets online, as tickets are available at the cashiers too. However, please note that Christmas time is usually very busy in the Baths, so you might wish to have a fast track ticket to skip the lines at the cashiers. Fast track tickets can be purchased online in advance.
Tickets on the spot are 1-2 euros cheaper than the online fast track tickets.
Hi,
is there a lounge area with chairs if we wanted to rest and nap a bit ?
Dear Luna,
for this, I would recommend the Palm House: https://szechenyibath.com/palm-house-spa-oasis-in-szechenyi-bath/
Please note that there is a separate ticket to be purchased here, the normal bath entry does not provide access to the Palm House.
Hi, my boyfriend and i are staying in Budapest from the 3rd-6th Feb. do you have half-day tickets as we don’t have too long in the city however we really want to come here and experience Szechenyi baths.
how much would that be in euros?
Hello!
We are 2 adults and 2 children (12Y- 12Y) we want to come to you next week. Your pools are suitable for children?
It is necessary to book with few days in advance ?
Thank you!
Hello Aura,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Children
The bath entry is free for children under 2 years old but older children have to pay full prices tickets.
The thermal baths were and are still aimed at adult bathers, therefore there are no kid’s pools or activities.
Most of the outdoor and indoor pools and baths are more than 33 degrees Celsius, which means increased stress for the cardiovascular system of kids, whose body is not fully developed yet to be able to cope with the heat of the bath waters, therefore saunas and hot pools are not healthy for children under 14.

We recommend pre-booking your tickets a few days in advance.
