Szechenyi Baths Closing Time

There are two closing times at Szechenyi Baths Budapest. In short, the closing time at Szechenyi Baths is 8 pm each day (regardless of the month or the season), but you need to be aware of the fact that only the outdoor pools remain open until late night. The general time to close the doors of the baths are 8 pm on the opening times board, but all guests are kindly asked to leave the bath complex 20 minutes before the closing time, so the ‘net’ or actual closing time is 7:40pm from Monday to Sunday, all 7 days.

There are two kinds of closing times at Szechenyi Spa Baths: one for the indoor pools (usually referred to as the Thermal section) and one for the outdoor pools (usually referred to as the Pool section). Now the naming practice at Szechenyi Baths may seem a bit misleading to you (more info about it below).

The two-folded closing time of Szechenyi Baths is as follows:

Closing time of the indoor facilities

The internal pools and thermal section close at 8pm. The indoor Szechnyi bath rooms include the indoor facilities like the saunas, steam rooms, thermal pools, plunge pools, massage rooms, beauty salon, pedicure, manicure, etc.) close at 7:30pm on a daily basis (from Monday to Sunday).

You will need to leave the baths 20 minutes before the actual closing time, so the real closing hours are at 7:40pm. Two of the 3 public cashiers (the smaller side entrance cashiers, one of which is just by the M1 underground / metro station) sell tickets only for the 7pm closing time.

Closing time of the outdoor facilities

The outdoor pools of Szechenyi Baths are also ‘thermal’ in a sense that two of the 3 external pools are warm / hot (i.e. thermal) and one of them (the biggest in the middle, shown in the photo of Szechenyi Baths above) is cooler. In the two thermal spa baths, which are both popular and one of them features a fast swiveling ‘lazy river’ fun pool, you can enjoy the natural hot waters of Szechenyi Spa even late at night.

The 3 open air pools stay open until 8pm. The tickets are somewhat cheaper between 7pm and 10pm as you will not be able to use the indoor pools (there are 15 indoor thermal pools).
