Szechenyi Baths Children Ticket Prices

How much are bath tickets for children at Szechenyi Baths Budapest?

Are there any discounts for kids at the medicinal bath complex? No, unfortunately children tickets cost the same as adult tickets. Currently all the prices at Szechenyi Baths are flat. The reason for this is that Szechenyi Bath is frequented mostly by 18+ visitors due to the medical features and requirements of the baths. More about Children in Szechenyi Bath.

Under 2 Children in Szechenyi Bath

Bath entry is free for children under 2, which basically means that children under 2 years old can enter the bath building but can not use the pools (and as 1-2 year olds can see that others are using the pools, they will not comprehend (easily) why they are not allowed to splash around (it’s a potential conflict with a budding intelligence).

Firstly, medically the hot waters are not recommended for children under 14 years of age, let alone for children under 2. Secondly, children cannot enter the pools if they have not been potty trained yet. That is, children are not allowed in the pools in swim nappies.

Children 3 – 17 Year Olds in Szechenyi Bath

There are no children discounts in the bath, not even student discounts. 3-17 year old visitors are required to have an adult ticket. School groups, similarly, get no discounts and are kindly encouraged to select a bath in Budapest which is specifically geared towards children / young adults with chutes, slides, inflatables, and general excitement and merriment. We would suggest from April till mid October the following mixed baths where open air and indoor facilities are also available: Palatinus Bath, Dagaly Bath, Paskal Bath, Csillaghegyi Bath. For a full on water theme park, we would recommend AquaWorld north of the city centre (approx. 1h by coach in Budapest).

OAP / Senior Citizen Discounts

There are no cheaper tickets for pensioners / the elderly people accompanying children.

Disability

Unfortunately, there are no discounts for disabled children or disable adults or their companions in Szechenyi Bath.

  1. Good day,

I am emailing from South Africa. I will be coming on holiday with my family to Budapest this month.

I would like to book for 7 of us for the 29th of June 2017

    4x adults
    1x fifteen year old
    1x 9 year old
    1x one year Old

I would like to have a full day entry and also would like to be there to swim at night if that is possible.

    Please let me know.

    Thank you

      Dear Sumaya,
      thank you for your inquiry.
Please note, that children over 14 years old can go to the baths, under 14 the pools are not recommended for kids, but if the parents decide to come anyway at their own responsibility, they can. However, children & babies who are not dry and clean yet (being potty trained) are not allowed in the pools, not even with a swimming nappy. This usually applies to children under 3 years of age. Babies and toddlers can come with you to the bath, and stay outside the pool area.
As most of the outdoor and indoor pools and baths at Szechenyi Baths are more than 33 degrees Celsius, which means increased stress for the cardiovascular system of kids, whose body is not fully developed yet to be able to cope with the heat of the bath waters.
Tickets can be bought following this link:

Szechenyi Bath is open till 10 pm. There is no night swimming later than that.

  2. Can I purchase the after 5pm entry online?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Joanna,

      thank you for your email.

This ticket must be bought at the cashier, it is not sold online. The price includes a standard bath entry to all facilities after 5 pm (the 15 pools inside, saunas and steam rooms close at 7 pm, the three outdoor pools remain open until 10 pm).

I hope I could be of help.

  3. We’re a family of 3. Does this mean we have to purchase 3 cabins online? Or can we purchase 1 cabin and share it by taking turns? It is 18,000 HUF if I buy all 3, but only 6,000 if I buy one. I just want to be sure that if I buy 1, we’ll all still be allowed to go inside. Thanks

      Dear Susan,
tickets are available either with cabin or with locker in Szechenyi Bath. If you don’t wish to buy 3 cabin tickets, I would recommend you to buy 1 ticket with cabin and 2 tickets with locker. If they are allocated close to each other, you can easily take turns in the cabin for getting changed (some cabins are lockers are farther away from each other though – they are assigned randomly by the system, based on availability).
Have a great time in Budapest and explore the thermal culture by visiting more baths!

  4. Hello,

Please can I confirm that under 14s are allowed in the 3 outdoor pools only? Is that right?

    Many thanks,
    Beth

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Beth,

That is correct. Although visits with children are up to parental responsibility and concern, so you may not be chased if the kids get in the interior pool but we kindly ask you to use the outdoor pools please, preferably.

  5. Hello! I am planning to bring my 8 month old just to get through. He won’t go in the pool and my sister. But they’ll just be around to enjoy the scenery and ambiance. Is this possible? Please advise.

    Thank you!

    Dawn

      Dear Dawn,
      Thank you for contacting us.
The bath entry is free for children under 2 years old but older children have to pay full prices tickets.
Babies who are not potty trained are not allowed in the pools, even if they are wearing a swimming nappy. It mostly applies to children under the age of 3.Babies and toddlers can come with the family to the Spa but need to stay outside the pool area with somebody.
It is possible that your sister stays around the pools with the baby.
Should you have further questions, please contact us.

  6. I have a daughter of 8 & 15 and rest 5 adults. I have already bought ticket for all. Can she use the outside pool or kids pool?

I will be coming on 15th July.
