Szechenyi Bath Weekday Bath Tickets

The entry to Szechenyi Bath is slightly cheaper on weekdays (Monday – Thursday are considered weekdays while Fridays – Sundays are weekends when it comes to Budapest thermal bath reservation). If you wish to shave off some Euros from the ticket price you can purchase your weekday ticket on the spot (subject to availability). Alternatively, you can buy your bath ticket online (the inclusions are enlisted in the booking form) to secure your place in the spa for a given day. Please note that national holidays are not weekdays, and some of the weekdays near national holidays are re-scheduled as holidays. If in doubt, please inquire via email or on the spot.

Entries are valid from 9 am to 7 pm (the opening hours may change seasonally, so again, please make sure to double check the current opening times before planning your visit). Normally, check-in time is between 9 am – 5.45 pm at the self-checkin.
Please pick a day in the calendar to make a valid purchase.

  1. Hi, I’m from the UK and wondering what the baths actually are. It’s me and my friend visiting and we’re wondering what’s included, how long we get in there, what we bring etc.

      Hi Lucy,

Thank you for planning your visit to Szechenyi Spa & Baths.
For first time visitors this page is probably the best guide to start with – services, pools etc.: https://szechenyibath.com/services/

Also some tips what to bring to the baths: https://szechenyibath.com/what-shall-i-take-with-me-to-szechenyi-baths-szechenyi-bath-faq/

In essence, try to picture a building complex, like a grand mansion with various rooms of all sizes, which have pools of all sizes. In addition, there are saunas, a gym, rooftop sunbathing (in summer), cafeteria, massage rooms, shower rooms, rows of cabins (changing cubicles) etc.
What there isn’t in the baths is water themed entertainment that are typically featured in more contemporary buildings, like a water theme park: there are no water slides or tubes, no inflatable toys, no loud music (unless you go to the Saturday night bath party at Szechenyi Baths, where there is plenty of loud music). If you would prefer to visit a water park or water themed amusement park there is a great complex in northern Budapest (AquaWorld in District 4), or a summer resort on Margaret Island called Palatinus Lido.

  2. Hello, we are visiting on monday 9th of May and have a very tight schedule. Can you tell us is there a waiting line to entry even with fast track tickets on a monday, or do long waiting lines appear only on saturday and sunday? For how long is the estimated wait?
    Thank you!

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Ema,
waiting lines can not be easily predicted. Mondays are usually less busy and it is more likely to have a big queue on a weekend day.
We recommend the arrival in the morning hours just after 9 am as most guests are arriving in the early afternoon hours.
Hope we can welcome you at Szechenyi Spa Baths!

  3. My mum and me are planning to visit the baths but do not have any flip flops/slippers, can we rent them or buy them there while purchasing the ticket?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Katie,
rental services are suspended since the start of the pandemic.
We recommend you bring your own flip flops or you can buy a basic pair upon arrival for HUF 4000.
Hope we can welcome you at Szechenyi Spa Baths!

  4. Hi,
I am just about to book for a Friday in July. Are you likely to be at capacity? I was just wondering about wait times to enter. We will likely arrive the earliest we can, which I think is 9am?
    Thank you
    Rachel

      Hello Rachel,
yes, Fridays are usually more popular. We recommend the arrival in the morning hours around 9 am, as most guests are arriving after 11 am.
Weekdays like Tuesdays or Wednesdays are usually more relaxed.
Have a nice holiday in Budapest!

  5. I have a cabin booked next week and I leave Budapest that evening. Will the cabin be suitable / large enough to store large luggage items for the day while I am at the baths?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

You can leave your luggage in the cabin provided (the cabin size is approx. that of a dressing room in a clothes shop, so you can leave there the 20 kg suitcase as well – if it is a regular size- along with your jackets etc.).
      I hope I could help!

  6. How long do people typically stay at the baths? I plan on arriving when it opens and am curious how long I may be there.
