Each evening, the 3 outdoor and 16 indoor pools of Szechenyi Spa Baths are open until late, into the evening hours, from Monday to Sunday, and in all four seasons, at weekends until approx. 8 pm (subject to seasonal change).
More Info on: Mon – Sun Opening Hours
Note: the staff will kindly ask you to leave the pools half an hour before the closing time.
Yes, that is right: Szechenyi Bath nights with its open air pools open all year round – spending an unforgettable night in the outdoor pools (there are more than a dozen indoor pools too) is one of the best things to do in Budapest, not only in spring – summer – autumn, but also in winter time.
Night opening hours mean that you can enjoy fantastic night baths in the open air pools, while enjoying romantic stargazing (in winter time the sun sets at approx. 4pm in Budapest), or just watching from the warm waves how gently the snow is falling – through the warm steam pillow forming over the thermal pools.
Open Air Pools at Night
There are 3 pools of various sizes and temperatures, so you will not feel either too hot or too cold, no matter what the weather is like. The middle pool is the coolest, which is in fact a sports swimming pool, while the two pools on the wings, are natural hot water thermal pools: one of which is cooled down to 33 degrees Celsius and the other is 38 degrees Celsius.
Night Parties in Szechenyi Baths
Almost every month every Saturday night you can join the world famous hip Szechenyi Bath spa parties, known as Sparties, or the rarer and more spectacular peak summer parties called by various names, depending on the theme of a given year, e.g. Water Circus parties, aka Cinetrip sparties.
Hours of Saturday Party Nights: 9.30 pm – 2 am
Sparties are one of a kind all night pool parties in 2 of the thermal outdoor pools in Szechenyi Baths with laser shows, DJ and VJ electronic discos. Typically enjoyed by young people in their 20s, 30s and 40s.
Just like the day time visits in Szechenyi Baths, the night parties are not nude parties, swimwear is compulsory.
Drinks are available at the parties, which take place almost every Saturday night (autumn, winter and spring and summer months too, including the pre NYE Bath Party in December)

Szechenyi Spa Baths,
Just wanted to drop by and say that your baths looks unbelievable. If I’m ever in Budapest, I’ll definitely be checking them out.
Thanks,
Dennis

Have a nice time in Budapest, whenever you are coming.
Hello,
Today I went to the baths and after I pay for the ticket and got in, I discovered that the main pool was empty. I went down to an office to try to complain why they didn’t say it clearly at the ticket office that the main pool is empty, so as to decide if going anyway or not.
I went downstairs to the management office and waited for the manager. He didn’t care at all about what I was saying and he wasn’t even willing to take it as an advise. He just wanted me to leave him alone and if I didn’t like the situation it was my problem.
With only taking note of what I was saying was enough for me, but he made me feel my opinion as a customer was totally worthless. I don’t think it is clever to treat your customers that way.
I had to apology to the foreign friends I invited and of course was impossible to get a refund from this guy.
Overall a very bad experience since the other big pool was totally crowded and very disappointed for the lack of professionalism of the personal working there.
Best,
Luis

Good morning from Australia, There will be 3 couples coming to your beautiful city in August for 1 night and would love to come to the baths. Can you tell me please can we purchase tickets at the gate or do we have to pre purchase before we leave Australia. Also is there a quiet time or is it busy all the time.
Thanking you Ruth
Dear Mark,
thank you for contacting us.
Let me kindly inform you that the locker and cabin system has been completely changed.
When you check-in to the Baths, you will receive a waterproof wristband, which will serve as your key for the locker or for the cabin (depending on the ticket type you bought). Therefore no-one else has a key for your locker except you.
On top of that, you can also rent a safety box for your valuables if you wish.
We hope you will have a wonderful experience in Szechenyi Baths.
I read: “Each night, the three outdoor pools of Szechenyi Spa Baths are open until 10pm – from Monday to Sunday, and in all four seasons. Note: the 15 indoor pools and facilities also close at 10 pm.” But on several other pages I read that the thermal pools close at 7 pm.
Could you please clarify opening hours for December?
Thank you very much.
Nika
Hello Nika,
the indoor section is also open until 10 pm all year round.
Previously the indoor section was closed at 7pm, but it is open until 10 pm since last year.
Hope we can welcome you at Szechenyi Spa Baths!
I will be at Budapest for a short period, and would very like to visit this thermalbath. I don’t have time to sens my luggage to the hostel, so is there a room in locker to leave my luggage as well?
Dear Rita,
the lockers are too small to hold a luggage, so we would recommend you to buy a ticket with a cabin.
