Szechenyi Baths Cabin

The term ‘Szechenyi Bath cabin’ is used for changing rooms and storage rooms at Szechenyi Baths, in other words the cabins at Szechenyi Baths are private changing cabins, where you can, in your own privacy get changed and store your belongings.

Another option is to use the common changing areas and lockers for your items to be locked up.

Szechenyi Bath Ticket  – Cabin Use
The tickets to the bath can be purchased with ‘cabin use’, or with lockers. The cabin is an extra service on behalf of Szechenyi Baths (plus they take up a lot of room), so the tickets with cabins are approx. (depending on the actual currency rates) 3 Euro more expensive than the standard bath tickets, which include a locker by default. It is up to you if you want to have a more upgraded service at Szechenyi Bath or you are fine with the cheaper bath tickets, which do not include the use of a cabin.

You can also buy your ticket to the Szechenyi Baths online and save some time (not having to stand in the queue, which in summer time or during major holidays, can mean 25-35 min waiting before you get to the cashier). Please note that the online ticket may cost a bit more, depending on packages, handling fees, inclusions, etc. than purchasing the tickets in person at the bath (subject to availability at all times). For buying your entry on the spot, kindly make sure to have Forints in your wallet or an acceptable card, e.g. Visa or Mastercard.

The cabins at Szechenyi Bath can comfortably take up 1 person, and a bit more tightly even a couple to get changed. However, if you wish to use the cabin as a couple or as a family, we suggest getting changed by taking turns.

You can see the photo of a bath cabin at Szechenyi Baths – closed doors, and what is behind the door. As you can see the cabin is not a spacious room, as it has been designed for getting changed for the pools, not for staying in. That said, as you can see, the cabin is large enough to accommodate a normal suitcase, so some guests who directly arrive from Budapest Airport to the Baths, or the other way around, take a taxi / shuttle from the thermal baths to Ferihegy Airport, will opt for storing their suitcase in the cabin, which is completely acceptable (for valuables you can pay for a small safety deposit box to have a peace of mind)

This is what a Szechenyi cabin looks like from the inside (clean, purposeful, nothing fancy, perfect for having your privacy while getting changed in the baths):

  1. Hello, are the baths open tomorrow, 30.12.2017?

On this page tickets can be purchased but on Christmas’s hours it says that it’s closed?

Please help and thanks in advance!

  2. Hi. I’m planning my visit to the bath and have couple of questions. Are the bathrobe and swimming cap mandatory? I’m coming with my boyfriend, how shall we buy the ticket as we need only one cabin? One ticket with cabin and one with locker? How busy is it in January, is it better to book online or the queues are short and it’s not an issue to buy at the spot? Thanks in advance for your reply.

      Hello Linda,

      thank you for your email.

Bathrobes are not mandatory, swimming caps are needed in the outside swimming pool.

Tickets can be bought on the spot and January as not considered to be a busy month, but with the online purchased tickets you will be entitled to fast track bath entries, therefore you can skip the queues.

  3. Michele Pinkney

We are coming to Budapest on Thursday and returning home late Monday if we book on Monday is it less busy than Saturday please ? And is it cheaper to book on line?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Michele,
yes, probably the Baths is a bit less busy on Monday than on weekends.
Online tickets are fast track entries, which are somewhat more expensive than the simple ticket bought at the cashier.

  4. Can you tell me if purchasing tickets online do I need to produce my credit card on visiting, as not keen to have to this to carry around all day. Also if purchasing fast track is this well signed where to enter. Thanks

  5. Hello: There will be 3 of us. If we get cabin tickets, do we keep our belongings in the cabin? Or do we also need to get the locker? Can we buy locker separately? Also is the ticket purchase for entry at a specific time or there is a window of time for entry? We will be there July 3.

      Dear Ravi,
if you buy tickets with cabin, you won’t need a locker too. You can keep your belongings in the cabin.
Tickets are valid for the whole day between 9am and 10pm (check-in is possible between 9am and 6pm only).

  6. Hey! Does the cabin fit two suitcases? We are leaving on sunday but have plenty of time before heading to the airport and it would be perfect to do the baths then so we doen’t need to walk around town with our suitcases.

      Dear Janette,
the cabin is like a tiny room, or cubicle, which can store a standard check-in suitcase easily.
The cabin size is approx. that of a dressing room in a clothes shop, so you can leave there the 20 kg suitcase as well ( if it is a regular size) along with your jackets etc.
The door of the cabin has a unique chip code lock, which opens and closes with a special waterproof bracelet: in fact, with the chip incorporated in the wristband bath entry provided at the bath. Please make sure that your door is locked with the silicon wristband before leaving the cabin. As you are wearing the band all the times, it is quite secure if you make sure that the door is not left open
