Please book your massage therapy minimum 1 or 2 days before your planned visit to Szechenyi Thermal Bath, possibly weeks before the date of the visit. Please note that massage is only for bath guests in Szechenyi Baths owning a valid bath ticket.

Please note that Szechenyi Baths pools are for children over 14. More about Children in Szechenyi Bath by following the link to the article. We recommend taking under 14 kids to one of the following Budapest lidos or pools: Palatinus Furdo (summer time open air lido on Margaret Island) or Dagaly Furdo (summer time open air lido on the Pest side, by Arpad Bridge) where thermal baths and children pools are simultaneously available.
You can also check out the latest prices at the entrance on the ticket boards at Szechenyi Baths before purchasing your tickets. You can buy your baths tickets each day until 9 pm at the cashiers (1 hour before the closing time of the outdoor pools).
There are various tickets, including discount bath tickets for early morning swimmers (from approx. 7 am to 9 am-ish). You can also get a discount with Budapest Card (tickets can only be purchased at the cashier with no pre-booking. The Budapest Card discount is applicable to full price tickets only).
Refunding Prices of Tickets
Note: The old system of bath ticket refunding is not in use any more in Szechenyi Baths. It does not matter how long you are using your tickets, for 1 or 2 or 6 hours, the length of use will not mean refunding the price based on hours.

We are a group of 6 adults who want to visit the bath on Monday 1st September in the evening. We would also want lockers or cabins. Is it necessary for us to prebook tickets online or can we just show up and buy tickets on the spot? Is it possible that we will not be allowed to enter if there are already too many people at the bath? What other difference is there in prebooking tickets and buying tickets on the spot? Thank you.

Tickets are also available on the spot. However, please note that entry is always subject to availability. As September is a popular time with many pre-booked guests, it’s hard to predict how many tickets—if any—will be available at the cashier on the day.
We recommend arriving early in the morning, possibly before 10 am, if you plan to buy tickets at the venue, to avoid long queues and maximise your chances of entry and a more relaxed atmosphere.

Unfortunately, since Covid, the guided tours have been no longer available but you can visit the bath inside with a standard entry (the cheapest one is on a weekday with a locker).
Unfortunately, the guided tour is a third-party service, offered by an independent company. It cannot be booked directly.
Alternatively, you can download an affordable audio guide app that presents the City Park attractions, including the Szechenyi Bath. Hi, We are visiting Budapest next week and have been looking at booking the Palm House for one day for two persons but when we try to book on line only the month of July 2025 is available, we cannot change to a different month. How can we make this booking?

Pre-Booking
We recommend pre-booking your tickets, especially for weekends, as it helps you avoid queues and ensures smooth entry. However, please note that tickets are also available on the spot, subject to capacity.
Maintenance
Kindly note that between 27 October and 14 November, one of the three outdoor pools – the outdoor leisure pool- will be temporarily closed for scheduled maintenance. However, the other two outdoor pools (the thermal pool and the lap pool), along with all 15 indoor pools inside the palace building, will remain open. You’ll still be able to enjoy a complete and relaxing thermal experience during your visit. Please also note that 1 of 7 saunas and 1 of 4 steam rooms may be temporarily closed for maintenance.
Bathrobe
Please note that towel/bathrobe rental is no longer available at thermal baths in Budapest due to post-Covid changes. The only exception is in Szechenyi Bath high end packages, such as the limited access Palm House/ Dayspalm Package, where both a towel and a bathrobe rentals are included as part of the specialty entry.

Thank you for your message and your interest in the Budapest baths.
Kindly note that starting from August 1st, children under the age of 14 will not be permitted to enter the Szechenyi Thermal Baths (Rudas and Lukács Bath do not accept children either). This restriction applies to the entire facility, not just specific pools or areas.
For families, we recommend the following family-friendly baths during the colder season. These baths are better suited for younger visitors due to their pools and amenities geared towards families.
Palatinus Bath – A great option with outdoor and indoor pools and family amenities on Margaret Island in the heart of Budapest. Excellent value. Best option from late May to early October, but open during the winter months (outdoor thermal pool is connected via a heated corridor). Note: rental services not available, best to bring your own towel and swimwear as the bath shops may or may not have these items on sale.
Csillaghegy Bath – A spacious and modern complex ideal for families with children off city centre. Indoor pools are open in winter too. The location is off the city centre of Budapest.
In the winter months, we would particularly suggest Aquaworld if you wish to offer traditional water fun elements to your trip, e.g. chutes, slides, etc. and if you have a more spacious indoor / outdoor aqua theme park with multiple pools and slides in mind. The location is off the city centre of Budapest.

There are some part time / part day options available.
Afternoon Fast Track Tickets: this ticket must be activated after 3pm (checking in before 3 pm is not possible with the Afternoon Fast Track Ticket). After checking in, you can stay until the closing hours. This ticket is available online, for any day of the week (except certain holidays). As it is a fast track ticket you can skip the line.
