Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace
Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, in the evenings, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are over 6 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more. Before making a visit, please check if the FAQ has a reply to your questions.
Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.
The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.
Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Bath, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love. If you are interested in learning more about Budapest baths, explore some more on Baths Budapest.

Have a great winter holiday in Budapest!
Hi if I book a cabin is it large enough to leave 3 overnight bags in as we will have checked out of our hotel.
Hi Donna,
Storage for luggage / suitcases in Szechenyi Bath:
There are two types of storage in the baths: lockers and cabins.
The cabin size is approx. that of a dressing room in a clothes shop, so it is more suitable for leaving a luggage– if it is a regular size- along with your handbags etc.
The size of the locker is 120x30x65 cm (1200 x 300 x 650 mm) . It might be too small for your suitcase.
We hope you can use this information to plan your bags. Otherwise please find this information for extra storage https://budapestchristmas.com/budapest-christmas-luggage-storage-explore-the-market-the-city-without-backpacks-suitcases Have a lovely winter time in Budapest!
