Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace
Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, in the evenings, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are over 6 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more. Before making a visit, please check if the FAQ has a reply to your questions.
Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.
The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.
Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Bath, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love. If you are interested in learning more about Budapest baths, explore some more on Baths Budapest.

And I would like to know if there is a service to leave my stuff secured.
Thanks for the help.

Thank you for getting in touch.
Please find our price table here: https://szechenyibath.com/prices/
There are two kinds of storage options in Szechenyi Baths, and each ticket includes one of them. You can choose to purchase a ticket with a locker in the communal changing area or one with a private changing cubicle (also called a cabin).
We hope you enjoy visiting the Baths in Budapest!
Hi, why is the online booking for normal baths + private cabin 44 euros, which is so much more expensive than buying at the counter (10500 huf). Buying online is more than 60% more expensive, does the ticket from online include more benefits than buying at the counter, other than less queuing?
Hello Bing,
Thank you for contacting us.
We have sent you a detailed email about what is included in the online prices.
Have a great time visiting Budapest!
Do you need to wear a swimcap to visit the bath ?
Are swimming shorts allowed or do you need to wear a swimsuit ?
Thanks
Looking forward to my visit early next week;)
Hello Stephan,
Thank you for your comment.
Swim caps are only compulsory in the swimming pool (1 pool), not in the thermal pools (17 pools).
Currently all kinds of swimwear are allowed in the Baths.
We hope you have a lovely time visiting Budapest!
Salve, è possibile noleggiare asciugamani o accapatoi? Se si, quanto costa?
Salve Ausilia,
Hi, is there a complaints procedure? Myself and my friend had to wait 90 minutes for entry, despite having already purchased tickets 2 months prior. Meanwhile, those without a ticket or reservation were being let in, can I be contacted by someone to discuss this in greater detail please. Disgusting!
Hi,
We are looking for a group discount (13 people). Is this possible? How much will be the price?
Kind regards

Hello Tine,
Thank you for getting in touch with us regarding your lost item in the bath.
We have emailed you the instructions who to contact and what details to include.
As a rule of thumb, it is always best to return to the bath in person as the baths do not send anything by mail / deliver as a package, even if the item is found.
Thank you for your kind understanding.
