Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace
Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, in the evenings, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are over 6 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more. Before making a visit, please check if the FAQ has a reply to your questions.
Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.
The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.
Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Bath, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love. If you are interested in learning more about Budapest baths, explore some more on Baths Budapest.

Good evening
I was wondering whether you had safe storage for suitcase as we will be coming on the last day of our visit to Budapest and be travelling to the airport straight after and our hotel does not have storage for luggage
Best wishes
Ryan Connolly
Hello Ryan,
Thank you for contacting us.
If you purchase your entry tickets with a cabin you can leave your luggage in the cabin provided (the cabin size is approx. that of a dressing room in a clothes shop, so you can leave the 20 kg suitcase – if it is a regular size- along with your jackets etc.).
Have a great time visiting Budapest!
Hi , I booked for my mum and my self , my child is just turning two on the 16th of April , we are not going to use the baths but is it okay to bring him with me ?

Hello Duaa,
Thank you for contacting us.
According to current regulations children under 2 can enter the Baths for free, no need to get a ticket for them, but they are strictly not allowed in the thermal waters.
We hope you have a lovely time visiting Busapest!
