Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath  is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

  1. Package for massage and beer bath

  2. Hello

Is the entrance to the pools allowed to kids ?
If yes , for what ages ?
    Thank you

    • Hello Jenny,

      Thank you for your comment.
Children over 14 years of age are allowed in the thermal pools.
Younger children can only use the outdoor, cooler pools.
For families with younger children the Aquaworld Budapest is a great alternative.

We hope you have a great time in Hungary!

  3. Trying to book 29th or 30th December but there aren’t any options online. Can you pls confirm if there is availability?

    • Hello Adrian,

      Thank you for your comment.
We have sent you an email about bookings for the holiday season.
Have a great time in Budapest!

  4. Can I book for three people on Christmas day
Do you have any special offers for that day

    • Hello Gianna,

Thank you for getting in touch.
We have sent you an email regarding your question about booking.
Unfortunately there are no special offers for this time of the year.

We hope you enjoy your visit to Budapest!

  5. We will be in Budapest on Dec 16th and would like to book for a short stay – not the whole day, how can we do this? we need towels and slippers.

    • Hello Vicky,

      Thank you for your comment.
All tickets in the Baths are day entries, unfortunately there are no tickets for a shorter period.

You can purchase a ticket with a locker (rather than a cabin) for a better value price. However, there are no short stay tickets during weekends or the Christmas and New Year holidays (Dec 21 – Jan 7 in 2023: the rates are higher and opening hours may differ from regular days). From Monday to Friday there is a so called ‘Good morning ticket’ which is available on the spot only for early risers, buying entries at the cashier strictly before 9 am.

Towel rental is only included in the Dayspalm package, not included in regular or fast track tickets. We advise you to bring your own towel and flip flops, or you can also purchase them in the gift shop in the Baths (all products subject to availability, not guaranteed to be available in size / colour of preference)

We hope you have a lovely time in Budapest!

  6. I just wanted to provide some feedback on my recent experience
Myself and a friend had booked in Nov 23 for our trip to the Spa in December
We initially booked for 11/12/23 but we’re informed the baths would be closing early due to a private event
We moved our booking to 10/12/23
It was a full day entry prebooked ticket so we weren’t in any rush
We turned up around 11.30 and the door to the ‘online priority entrance was locked
We attempted to enter via another door when a member of staff closed the door on me while halfway through, put a hand up to my face and screamed at me ‘get out we are full’
I tried to explain we had booked online and couldn’t understand why there was a queue of people who were paying in the day being allowed entry while those of us who had paid were being declined
The behaviour of the female member of staff was unacceptable and completely ruined any hopes of a positive experience
We eventually got in but we’re only able to access 3 of the pools
Including the outdoor pool due to how busy the spa was
    It is clearly not regulated
We had both booked a cabin but ended up having to share one
I am very unhappy with the whole experience but mainly the member of staff who has no customer service skills at all

    • Hello Denise,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that the bath visit was disappointing to you. We have forwarded your complaint to the official customer service of Szechenyi Bath. Due to the festive period, please kindly allow 4-6 weeks for the complaint to be processed.

Thank you for your valuable feedback again and we hope to welcome you back to Budapest with improved services.
