Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.

Budapest Spa Party / Sparty

The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath  is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.

  1. I went to the baths and was not allowed in despite having my ticket/QR code. They said the ticket needed to be reissued for tomorrow (30/10). Can you please do this?

    • Hello Angela,
Thank you for your comment. We contacted you via email over the weekend/

Although we still do not understand what exactly may have happened at the check in process (was it at a later hour maybe?) as there was no other report of any similar incident with QR codes (not just yesterday but in the total time).
Please find the updated confirmation in your given email with an updated QR code. Please present the updated QR code digitally or printed (the new updated one) at the baths. Kindly check your spam folder too as the updated QR code has been already sent to you at the weekend.

  2. I booked for 2 people on thursday November 2nd (2023). I did not receive my email and my QR code.
I hope the company will do right thing and will help me!

    • Hello Nicolas,

      Thank you for your comment.

I checked our mailing system and can see that our customer service sorted out the issue of the typo in the email address with you yesterday. The QR code was resent to the corrected email address. Thank you for contacting us.

Enjoy the thermal baths and spa relaxation in Budapest!

      • hello, do we have where to park the car at your facilities?

        • Hello Christina,

          Thank you for contacting us.

You can use the open air parking spots at the address number 16 Allatkerti korut Road by Szechenyi Baths or choose to park the car in the parking house called ZOOna located at the end of Allatkerti korut Road road towards Hermina út road.

That said the thermal baths are easily accessible by public transport for a greener tourism option: there is a metro station right near Szechenyi Baths on the yellow line (M1 ‘Little Underground’ as the locals call it is a quirky historical underground running since the end of the 19th century, an attraction in itself)

We hope you enjoy your stay in Budapest!

  3. Poor hygiene! 2 people walking around in the pool with a nose bleed and 1 person cut their foot on a broken tile in the pool and staff cleaned the blood from the side of the pool with a bucket of pool water thrown over whilst rubbing their foot over it to ‘clean it’. And on top of this there was the lining of swimming shorts floating around and multiple other not nice things.

  4. I would like to book entry into the Szechenyl Bath in the morning of Dec 11th Monday. I also want to book a couples massage at that time for 45 minutes. Can you please tell me the best way to make this reservation and confirmation of the times. Does this include a cabin or locker or any amenities? Do we pay now or later?

    • Hello William,

      Thank you for contacting us.

We have sent you an email regarding your massage enquiry.

We hope you enjoy your stay in Budapest!
